Resource Limits & Quotas

Understanding default limits and how to scale your infrastructure

RamNode Cloud implements resource quotas to ensure fair usage and system stability. These limits can be increased based on your infrastructure needs.

    Default Resource Limits

    Instances

    • Total Instances: 10 per region
    • Total vCPUs: 20 cores
    • Total RAM: 40 GB
    • Concurrent Builds: 3

    Network

    • Floating IPs: 5 per account
    • Security Groups: 10 per account
    • Private Networks: 5 per region
    • Load Balancers: 3 per region

    Storage

    • Block Storage Volumes: 10 per region
    • Total Volume Storage: 1 TB
    • Snapshots: 25 per account
    • Custom Images: 10 per account

    API & Access

    • API Rate Limit: 1000 requests/hour
    • Team Members: 5 per account
    • SSH Keys: 25 per account
    • DNS Zones: 10 per account

    Checking Your Current Usage

View your current resource usage and limits in the Cloud Control Panel:

    1
Log into the Cloud Control Panel
    2
Navigate to Account → Resource Limits
    3
Review your usage across all resources
    4
    See which limits you're approaching

    Understanding Resource Quotas

    Per-Region vs Per-Account Limits

Per-Region Limits: Apply to each datacenter location independently. A 10-instance limit per region means you can deploy 10 instances in Seattle, 10 in New York, etc.

Per-Account Limits: Apply across all regions combined. Floating IPs and snapshots count against your total account quota regardless of location.

    Understanding Limit Types

    • Soft Limits: Default quotas that can be increased through a support request
    • Hard Limits: Technical constraints that cannot be exceeded

    Requesting Limit Increases

    When to Request an Increase

    • Need to scale beyond current instance quotas
    • Require additional floating IPs or load balancers
    • Need more storage capacity for volumes or snapshots
    • Building a large-scale infrastructure

    How to Request

    1

    Open a Support Ticket

Navigate to the Support Center and create a ticket

    2

    Specify Resources Needed

List which limits you need increased and by how much

    3

    Explain Your Use Case

Describe your project and why you need additional resources

    4

    Include Timeline

Let us know when you need the increase by

    Best Practices

    Plan for Growth

    • • Request limit increases before you hit current quotas
    • • Allow 24-48 hours for increase requests to be reviewed
    • • Monitor your usage regularly through the control panel

    Optimize Resource Usage

    • • Delete unused instances and volumes to free up quota
    • • Remove old snapshots you no longer need
    • • Consolidate workloads where possible
    • • Use auto-scaling to manage resources efficiently
