RamNode Looking Glass
A looking glass is a web-based network tool that lets you test latency, ping, and traceroute from a provider's network back to yours or to any destination on the internet.
What Is a Looking Glass?
A looking glass is a public network utility hosted inside a data center. It lets you run commands like ping and traceroute as if you were sitting on the provider's network. This is useful for diagnosing routing issues, measuring latency, and verifying that traffic is taking the expected path between your location and RamNode's infrastructure.
Because the tests originate from RamNode's network, you get an accurate view of connectivity and performance from our side of the internet. The result is usually the opposite of a normal speed test: instead of measuring how fast we reach you, the looking glass measures how fast your network reaches us.
What Can You Test?
You can run ping to measure round-trip time and packet loss, traceroute to map the network path between RamNode and your target, and MTR to combine both into a single report that helps pinpoint lossy or congested hops. These tools are useful for diagnosing routing issues, verifying latency, and troubleshooting connectivity from any of our locations.
