    What Is Private Networking?

    Private networking creates a dedicated layer-2 network inside your RamNode Virtual Private Cloud. Each instance gets an internal IP address that is reachable only by other instances attached to the same private network, keeping internal traffic off the public internet.

    The private network keeps your instances' internal traffic separate from the public internet, so you can build secure multi-tier architectures, replicate databases, run backend services, and orchestrate containers without exposing internal endpoints. All instances on the same private network can communicate directly and at full host speeds.

    What Can You Use Private Networking For?

    Any architecture that has internal traffic between instances can benefit from an isolated private network.

    Database Replication

    Replicate MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other databases between nodes over a secure internal link, avoiding public exposure of database ports.

    Multi-Tier Applications

    Separate web, application, and database tiers onto different instances while letting them communicate privately inside the same VPC.

    Internal Services

    Run caches, message queues, search indexes, and APIs on private IPs so they are reachable only by your application servers.

    Reduced Attack Surface

    Keep sensitive traffic off the public internet. Internal ports and management interfaces do not need public IP addresses or firewalls.

    Traffic between instances on the same private network stays on the host fabric, delivering low latency and full bandwidth without egress metering.
